The members of the "Compagnia La Giostra" come from diverse musical, theatrical and artistic backgrounds. The interest and curiosity for medieval and popular Mediterranean music brought all of them together around this palette of colours to give life to a multicoloured canvas. The group's musical and vocal performances, even if guided by experts and lute masters, is and continues to be a liberal interpretation of medieval culture, of the repertoire and instruments in use at that time.

The Company, created in 1998, has progressively affirmed itself at the national level and gradually on the international scene within the community of groups working in the research, reclamation and spread of early music (starting from Medieval times) and Sicilian and Mediterranean ethnic-popular music. The style favoured by the group is that of the story-teller combining irony with jest.

Characterized by a driving train of parodies, sonnets and both vocal and instrumental pieces which invite the public to dance and to interact with satirical interpretations - all place into evidence the theatricality of the action occurring on the stage. The ensemble has participated in numerous events including historical reenactments and processions, jousts, Medieval and Renaissance fairs, national and international festivals and various other events.
