LA GIOSTRA

The company was born in 1998. It is made up of artists coming from different experiences and it progressively affirmed itself first on a national level, subsequently also on the international scene involving the groups that are concerned with search, renewal and spreading of the ancient and popular music, Sicilian and Mediterranean one. The interest and the curiosity for all these musical kinds and for the different expressive languages have gathered them around this palette of colours, in order to give life to their coloured picture.  The musical instrumental and vocal search of the group  is, and pretends to be, a free interpretation of the medieval culture, of the repertoire and instruments in use at that time. The favourite style is the story teller’s, sometimes ironic, sometimes peculiar to the minstrel, characterised by an intense following  of parodies, sonnets, vocal and instrumental passages that invite to dance, to satirical interactions with the public which put in evidence the way of being theatrical of the stage action.
